Career assessment – helps you identify the right job and career path for you.
Career planning – work with a career counselor to help you create and use a plan to get that ideal job.
Career coaching – our staff can help support you in your successful job search.
Job Search workshops – our workshops help you learn and use the most effective strategies for obtaining a job that meets your needs. To register for a workshop, you must come to the AEC or work with an AEC staff person who can register you for the event.
Career training and certification – if you meet eligibility requirements, you might be able to access career training and certification to help you develop skills employers need.
Career Fair events – AEC sponsors a Spring Teen Expo Career Fair as well as Fall Career Fair event.
Job Board – create a profile, make your resume searchable by employers and search and apply for area jobs on the AEC Job Board.
Veterans services – Veterans and their spouses receive priority of access to services at the AEC.
Services for individuals with disabilities – AEC partners with area organizations that specialize in helping individuals with disabilities obtain competitive employment. Their staff are co-located with the AEC staff.
Resource Center – At the AEC Resource Center find everything you need to conduct a successful self-directed job search.
Youth Employment Certificate (Work Permit): In Virginia, all 14-15 year old workers in Virginia are required to obtain an Employment Certificate (Work Permit information).
